1. WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN MY FIRST SESSION?
Your first few sessions are a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll explore what’s bringing you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and how we might work together.
This is also a time for me to learn about your history and what makes you the unique individual you are today! These beginning sessions look a little different than the rest because I will have my notepad and will be asking more directive questions. Remember, you are the boss in our therapy sessions and therefore decide what information you feel comfortable to share at that time.
It’s a collaborative and comfortable conversation. No pressure, no judgment, just curiosity.
2. HOW DO I KNOW IF THERAPY IS RIGHT FOR ME?
If you feel stuck, anxious or disconnected.
If you feel anxious, stuck, hopeful for change, wanting to get to know yourself better, or establish a support system, therapy is a great option.
Many of my clients aren’t in crisis; they’re motivated individuals who want to grow, improve relationships, and live more authentically.
3. WHAT APPROACHES DO YOU USE?
I draw primarily from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Gestalt Therapy, with integration of psychodynamic, polyvagal, mindfulness, and creative experiential techniques.
You can read more about each on the Approach page.
4. DO YOU OFFER ONLINE THERAPY?
Yes. In addition to in-person appointments in central Winnipeg, I also offer secure virtual sessions for clients in Manitoba and Ontario via Zoom.
5. HOW LONG AND HOW OFTEN ARE SESSIONS?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long. Longer sessions can be arranged at the clients request.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions and may shift to bi-weekly or monthly as progress develops. We’ll find a rhythm that supports your goals and lifestyle.
6. WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?
Individual Psychotherapy Session (in-person or online): $150 per session
I also offer one free 20-minute consultation over Zoom for new & potential clients.
Most extended health insurance plans provide coverage — please check with your provider for details.
7. DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE OR BENEFITS COVERAGE?
Yes, my services are covered by most extended health benefit plans, including Blue Cross, Sunlife, Manuife, Canadalife, Green Shield, SSQ Financial Group, and ClaimSecure.
Please confirm coverage directly with your provider under the category of Registered Psychotherapist or Psychotherapist.
8. WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule without charge.
The first missed appointment is free; subsequent late cancellations are billed at $100.
Emergencies are always considered with understanding.
9. HOW IS CONFIDENTIALITY HANDLED?
All sessions, files and correspondence are confidential within the limits of professional ethics and law, including your right to safety and protection.
Any information shared remains between us unless disclosure is legally required.
10. WHAT IF I’M NERVOUS ABOUT STARTING THERAPY?
That’s completely normal and understandable.
Therapy can feel vulnerable at first, but you set the pace. Our sessions are collaborative: you lead, I guide.
My goal is to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can explore safely and comfortably.
11. DO YOU WORK WITH COUPLES OR CHILDREN?
Currently, I work exclusively with individual adults (age 18+).
If you’re seeking couples or family therapy, I can provide referrals to trusted local clinicians.
12. HOW DO I BOOK A CONSULTATION OR SESSION?
You can book your free 20-minute consultation directly through the Contact page.
Include your name, email, and a short description of what’s bringing you to therapy. You’ll receive a reply within 1–2 business days.
